Today’s Breaking News Headlines, October 16, 2026: Delhi Police detained CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke and AISA activist Neha Bora on Friday amid planned protests. Dipke was heading to Connaught Place for the ‘Lehra Do Tiranga’ march, while Bora was detained near Mandi House shortly after starting her march. Police had denied permission for the Connaught Place event, citing prohibitory orders under Section 163 and its status as a location not designated for protests.

Dipke called the demonstration against the jailing of CJP leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka after they entered Jantar Mantar on October 13. Meanwhile, Mumbai Police permitted a solidarity rally at Azad Maidan, a designated protest site.
