iPhone 18 Pro to launch soon in India: Price, specifications and more

We’re still months out from Apple’s next iPhone launch, but the rumour mill is already in full swing. And if the leaks pan out, the iPhone 18 Pro could turn out to be one of the more substantial redesigns Apple has pushed out in years – think a slimmer Dynamic Island, a jump to 2nm chip manufacturing, noticeably bigger batteries, and camera hardware that’s actually new rather than just refined.

Apple hasn’t said a word officially, of course. But industry chatter points to a September 2026 launch, with India likely landing in that first wave of markets – same as it’s been the past couple of cycles.

Smaller Dynamic Island

The Dynamic Island might finally shrink. Word is Apple’s figured out how to tuck some of the Face ID hardware – the flood illuminator specifically – underneath the display itself, which would free up screen real estate without sacrificing face-unlock functionality.

Screen sizes probably won’t budge (6.3 inches on the Pro, 6.9 on the Pro Max), but there’s talk of a new LTPO+ panel that’s more power-efficient, which should help on the battery front too.

Batteries are getting bigger

This might be the most tangible upgrade of the bunch. Regulatory filings that have leaked suggest the Pro Max in particular could see close to a 10% increase in battery capacity. Numbers being thrown around: around 4,056mAh for the standard 18 Pro in Nano-SIM markets, closer to 4,288mAh for the US eSIM-only version. The Pro Max is rumoured to land somewhere around 5,391mAh and 5,567mAh depending on SIM configuration. A bigger battery likely means the Pro Max ends up a touch thicker than last year’s model, and thicker than the standard 18 Pro too.

Faster chip, better connectivity

Under the hood, we’re expecting the A20 Pro, built on TSMC’s first crack at 2nm production. That should mean a solid step up in both speed and efficiency over the current 3nm chips. Apple is also said to be rolling out its next in-house modem, the C2, which reportedly brings support for satellite-based 5G – handy for staying connected in dead zones where normal cell coverage drops out.

Cameras get a bit smarter

On the photography side, leaks point to a 48MP Fusion main camera with variable aperture – a first for iPhone. Unlike a fixed-aperture setup, variable aperture lets the camera adjust how much light hits the sensor depending on the shot, which should translate to better portraits and stronger low-light performance.

New colours, small design tweaks

Expect a colour refresh too. A Dark Cherry option seems to be in the works, alongside light blue, dark grey, and silver. Cosmic Orange and Deep Blue, from the current lineup, may not make the cut this time.

The Camera Control button might get simplified – dropping the touch-gesture support in favour of just pressure-sensitive input. And around the MagSafe ring, Apple’s apparently moving toward a cleaner, single-tone Ceramic Shield finish instead of the current two-tone look.

iPhone 18 Pro – India Price

iPhone 18 Pro’s base model could land at somewhere around Rs 1,39,900 in India, roughly Rs 5,000 pricier than what the iPhone 17 Pro launched at, if these numbers hold up.

The higher storage tiers aren’t expected to come cheap either. There’s talk of the 256GB variant running about Rs 1,44,900, and the Pro Max – Apple’s top-of-the-line option -potentially starting closer to Rs 1,54,900.

What else is expected?

Beyond the Pro models, rumours indicate Apple is preparing its first foldable iPhone, currently referred to as the iPhone Ultra. The standard iPhone 18, a more affordable iPhone 18e, and a new iPhone Air are also expected to join the lineup later, possibly next year.
