Shravan Reddy speaks about his multi-faceted role in ‘Agadha’
Ahead of its release on August 14, actor Shravan Reddy spoke about his character, his work with the filmmaker MS Raju and the movie’s mystic theme. MS Raju’s film, Agadha , is produced by Kashi Visalakshi Balusu under Sri Adi Varaha productions and presented by Ajay KR.
The film features Kamakshi Bhaskarla and Shravan Reddy in lead roles, alongside Ulka Gupta, Jovika Vijayakumar, Bhanu Chander, Shiju, Vanitha Vijayakumar, Roshan Basheer, Shreya Rani Reddy, VIVA Raghava, Robert Master, Arna Muller and Kanakava.
Speaking about his project after Dirty Hari, the actor shared, “The film was released during Covid and it did well, but being a straight OTT title, I was looking to do something bigger and bolder. And then I did Mangalavaaram and MS Raju sir gave me this offer for Agadha .
It’s a very different character than what I did in Dirty Hari , as it has various shades to it. It’s more of a divine mystic thriller with all kind of horror elements put together.
“People are also speculating that Shravan Reddy has essayed a negative role in the film, which is absolutely not true. It’s a mystic thriller where the good and bad in everyone is being explored.
The actor further shared that he had limited time to prepare for the film. “It was a short project and I had just four days to read the narration before I stepped on the sets. It was mostly MS Raju’s direction that I followed to understand the character.
Shravan further said that Agadha ’s OTT debut was great, but he is hoping for theatrical success with this film. “Dirty Hari did well on the digital platform, but I want Agadha to make me a star in the theatres.
Talking about the film’s special effects, the actor shared, “We did most of the shoot in natural locations and few sets were created to give it this mystic and horror look. The VFX is really good and the whole film is an eye-opener in terms of visuals.
The actor also said that Agadha ’s concept is so good that it could possibly have a prequel or sequel. Meanwhile, he is working on another project helmed by Chandra, with one schedule already wrapped up in Kashmir. “I want to experiment with different genres and not stick to the same superstar formula. With my upcoming film, I am trying to do something big and bold,” he added.
