‘Husharu Pittalu’ review: A bold teen romance that packs an emotional message
Rating: 3/5

Husharu Pittalu is a young-age Telugu film centered around the themes of teenage attraction, first love, and the consequences of impulsive decisions. The movie is directed by Bikshu, who cast Ansh and Vasavi Ganesan as the leading actors. It was produced by Venkat Yadav under Rudra Kranthi Pictures and released by BVG Studios on August 15, which is the Independence Day. It is a bold film that mainly appeals to a younger audience, as it tries to convey an important message about teenage life, parents’ behavior, and the need to make responsible decisions.
Story
The film follows the story of Masinapalli Ravi, a diligent schoolboy and an intelligent student who can be described as a typical ‘teacher’s favorite.’ He meets Putta Chitti, an ordinary schoolgirl who is not interested in studies, and they begin to secretly see each other. However, their relationship is destined to be short-lived, as their parents’ negligence and controlling behavior eventually force the youngsters to confront the consequences of their actions. The plot of Husharu Pittalu is built around the romance between Ravi and Chitti, which begins with harmless flirting and evolves around the themes of teenage attraction and impulsive decisions.
Performances
Ansh’s performance as Ravi is believable and convincing, as he portrays the emotional conflict and confusion of a young man caught in the throes of first love. Vasavi Ganesan’s role as Putta Chitti is arguably the most impressive aspect of the film, as she demonstrates incredible acting talent and manages to fully engage the audience’s attention throughout the movie. Govardhan Reddy, who plays Ravi’s father, and the rest of the supporting cast are also worth recognition for their contribution to the film. More importantly, the performers manage to avoid overacting, which is a rare sight in modern Indian cinema. In addition, most of the actors’ performances are given enough screen time.
Technicalities
Bikshu manages to make teen life sound exciting and engaging. The director does an amazing job of setting the scene in which the story unfolds. Because the setting was in the countryside, it made the movie appealing in a unique way. The plot was easy to follow, but still kept the audience entertained. The screen play nicely captures the image of confusion, naivety and impulsiveness that is so common for the teenage period of human life. It is also worth mentioning that some dialogues and situations were quite bold and even offensive, but all of that was needed to get the point across. Charan Arjun’s music and background score are the strongest part of the film, as they are undeniably impressive. The overall cinematography is equally worth praise, and the editing, along with other technical elements, is of a satisfactory standard.
Analysis
Husharu Pittalu is a movie that can be enjoyed on multiple levels, as it portrays teenage life realistically while also providing an important message to parents and children. The central message of the film is about the importance of parental control and awareness, as well as the necessity of making responsible decisions in all areas of life. While the movie’s boldness and occasional use of double entendre may be off-putting for some viewers, the film ultimately leaves a deep impression on the audience.
