Harry Kane to Alexia Putellas: Complete list of Ballon d’Or 2026 award winners
New Delhi: Harry Kane pipped Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappe to win his maiden at the 2026 ceremony in London on Monday. Kane became the first English player to win the prestigious individual honour since Michael Owen in 2001.

He was rewarded for his extraordinary season with Bayern Munich and England, where he scored 73 goals across competitions for the club and country combined. Kane finished as the highest goal-scorer in the Bundesliga last season and finished with 61 goals for Bayern across all competitions.
Kane’s tally of 73 goals in a season is only bettered by Lionel Messi, who racked up 82 goals for Argentina and Barcelona in the 2011-12 season. Kane became the fifth English player overall and the first Bayern player since Karl-Heinz Rummenigge in 1981 to win the Ballon d’Or.
Alexia Putellas wins 3rd Ballon d’Or Feminin
Spain midfielder Alexia Putellas won the women’s Ballon d’Or 2026. She won the prestigious individual honour for a record-equalling third time in her career. Putellas won the Ballon d’Or Feminin in 2021 and 2022 before lifting the award for the third time this year.
The 32-year-old was voted the best women’s player of the 2025-26 season after leading Barcelona to the Women’s Champions League title and the quadruple last season. She left Barcelona after the end of the season to join Women’s Super League (WSL) side London City Lionesses earlier this year.
Meanwhile, Spain youngster Lamine Yamal, who finished third in the Ballon d’Or rankings, was awarded the Men’s Young Talent of the Year award for his brilliant season for club and country. Yamal helped Barcelona win La Liga and lifted the FIFA World Cup 2026 trophy with Spain.
Kane also won the Men’s Striker of the Year award for his goalscoring exploits with Bayern Munich and England. Paris Saint-Germain won the Club of the Year award after lifting the Champions League title for the second time in a row.
