An explosion from a suspected gas leak from a cylinder in a chaat shop in Rajarajeshwari Nagar in Bengaluru resulted in injuries to three people, including a nine-year-old boy, on Saturday.

Among the injured were Bablu, who ran the chaat shop, and Lakshmanna, a nine-year-old boy. Both are said to be neighbours.

According to preliminary investigation, Bablu had gone to the shop around 9.30 am and opened the storeroom where pani puri is prepared. Police claim that the gas that was leaking from the cylinder could have triggered the explosion. The injured have been admitted to the hospital and are undergoing treatment. Police said their condition was stable.

Fire and emergency services personnel and police inspected the spot. Further investigation is underway, police said.
