Faster reforms vital for wealth creation
New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki India Chairman RC Bhargava has urged the Centre and state governments to accelerate reforms and make it easier to do business, while calling on all political parties to support wealth-creating policies.

In his message to shareholders in the company’s annual report for 2025-26, Bhargava said faster wealth creation was essential for India to make up for lost time. He also urged the government and Opposition to ensure that additional resources generated through reforms were used to create a more equitable and just society. “Increase efforts to make doing business easier,” Bhargava said, stressing greater use of technology to reduce corruption, delays and production costs.
He also called for greater trust in the private sector and the power of competition. Bhargava said the Indian economy continued to perform well despite the Iran-US war, and highlighted the buoyancy in GST collections even after tax rates were reduced on more than 90 per cent of products.
