‘Embarrassment To India’: Abhijeet Dipke Slams PM Modi After Release From Detention
Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) convener Abhijeet Dipke launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi after being released from detention on Sunday, calling him an “embarrassment to India” and accusing him of cowardice and bullying.

“Modi, as PM, is an embarrassment to India. Never has this country seen a bigger coward and bully,” Dipke wrote in a post on X on Sunday morning.
His remarks came shortly after an executive magistrate ordered his release, along with fellow CJP leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, nearly 24 hours after Delhi Police detained them at the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
Court Orders Release With One-Year Peace Condition
The three CJP leaders were detained in New Delhi Saturday when their plane alighted in the city from Mumbai. The action came before the group planned to protest at Jantar Mantar for the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
According to the CJP’s legal head, the executive magistrate ordered their release on the condition that they must not breach the peace for one year.
The leaders were taken into custody shortly after their aircraft landed. Flight AI 2428 arrived at 10.18 am and was moved to remote bay R12 after the airport’s Airside Operations Control Centre asked air traffic control to park it there, according to people familiar with the matter cited by Hindustan Times.
The detention triggered criticism from CJP supporters, who accused the authorities of attempting to prevent the group from holding its demonstration.
CJP Announces Press Conference, Renews Protest Call
Following the leaders’ release, the CJP announced plans to hold a press conference at 2 pm on Sunday. The group also reiterated its intention to continue protesting against Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in the voter-list revision exercise.
CJP leader Ajinkya Shinde, who took charge of the movement after Dipke’s detention, said the group would not abandon its demands.
“The government thought we would back down after the detention of Abhijeet Dipke, Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka. But we won’t. We will continue our agitation till Gyanesh Kumar resigns,” Shinde said.
The CJP had called for another attempt to reach Jantar Mantar on Sunday, with supporters vowing to continue their agitation despite the restrictions imposed by the authorities.
Delhi Security Restrictions Continue
Delhi Police planned to maintain extensive security restrictions across central Delhi on Sunday, with Jantar Mantar remaining closed and traffic diversions in place at 30 locations. Security measures also included barricading the Capital’s borders as authorities prepared for renewed demonstrations.
The restrictions followed a major police operation on Saturday, when thousands of people were detained ahead of the planned protest. The crackdown disrupted transport services and prompted criticism from opposition leaders and civil society groups.
The Supreme Court was also scheduled to hear a petition alleging that authorities had violated its order by imposing sweeping restrictions on metro and train services.
The CJP’s renewed protest call has kept tensions high in the Capital, with the group insisting that it will continue its campaign until the Chief Election Commissioner resigns.
