Apple has introduced its new 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by the M6 chip, with prices in India starting at ₹2,39,900. The latest laptop brings improvements to processing speed, graphics, artificial intelligence and wireless connectivity. Apple has retained the familiar MacBook Pro design, with most of the changes taking place inside the machine.

Announced on October 27, 2026, the new MacBook Pro will be available for pre-order from October 28, with sales beginning on November 6. The laptop comes in space black and silver and runs macOS 27 Golden Gate. Apple claims the M6 delivers up to 30 per cent faster graphics and 25 per cent better AI performance compared with the previous M5 chip. Those figures come from Apple’s internal testing.

Apple M6 chip brings faster CPU, GPU and AI performance

The M6 features a 12-core CPU and 12-core GPU, both with two additional cores compared with the M5 configuration.

Apple has included Neural Accelerators in the GPU and a dual 16-core Neural Engine for handling AI tasks such as image generation, photo processing and running large language models directly on the laptop.

The company claims the Neural Engine delivers up to 1.9 times the performance of M5. Users upgrading from an M1 MacBook Pro could see much larger improvements, depending on the application.

The laptop starts with 16GB of unified memory, configurable up to 32GB, with memory bandwidth reaching 170GB/s.
