AP govt to adopt single-window system to boost film industry

Andhra Pradesh Government is taking major steps to boost the film industry by introducing a single-window clearance system and a fast-track method for film shooting permissions. Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary Sai Prasad, APSFTVTDC Chairman Bharat Bhushan, APFDC Managing Director Viswanathan, and several other officials have convened a meeting to develop a process that would allow movie makers to get permissions with ease.

He said that the Government is determined to make the state a preferred destination for filmmakers and that deliberations are underway to develop a hassle-free procedure that would give filmmakers the ability to get the required permissions with ease.

“The single window system will ease the process of getting approvals and permissions and will boost the ease of doing business for the cinema sector while also attracting more filmmakers to choose the state as a filming destination,” said Bharat Bhushan.

He further stated that the state has witnessed an uptick in movie production and that the latest developments will give the film industry a much-needed push.The meeting was also attended by senior-most officials including Principal Secretary Kumar Vishwajeet, PCCF Chalapathi Rao, CCF N.N. Rao, along with several other departmental heads who have pledged their support to the new policy. The government is anticipated to release extensive guidelines for the new system in the coming days.
