Air Suvidha Form Mandatory for All International Passengers Arriving in India
The Indian government has issued an important reminder to all international air passengers travelling to India, making it clear that completing the Air Suvidha Self-Declaration Form (SDF) before arrival is mandatory.

The Bureau of Immigration posted a reminder, on its X account urging passengers not to overlook the requirement before beginning their journey.
“Attention ALL passengers arriving in India: SDF IS NOT OPTIONAL! Complete it before arrival ” the bureau said.
The post also made it clear that the rule applies to every kind of traveller. There is no exception for citizens who are coming back, from abroad.
What is the Air Suvidha Self-Declaration Form?
The Indian government introduced the Air Suvidha Self-Declaration Form during the COVID-19 pandemic to collect health details from international travellers. The form is back in focus after the government issued a fresh health advisory in June 2026.
According to the FAQs on the Air Suvidha 2.0 portal, the Directorate General of Health Services (Dte. GHS), Government of India, issued an advisory asking all passengers arriving in India by air to complete the form in view of the ongoing Ebola disease outbreak.
“The passengers are requested to fill the SDF timely before they start their travel and complete all mandatory information correctly for smooth arrival clearance at airports and for any further assistance to the passengers by the Health Authorities if needed,” the advisory stated.
Where and when should passengers fill the form?
International passengers can access the Air Suvidha 2.0 portal through the official website: http://airsuvidha.civilaviation.gov.in.
Travellers are advised to complete the declaration preferably during web check-in. The form can be submitted up to 72 hours before the scheduled arrival in India.
Passengers can include many as four family members, in one portal submission. Every traveller will get a separate Self-Declaration Form. This form is based on the details given. Each of these forms needs to be downloaded. Each of these forms must be shown when arriving. Each of these forms is needed for immigration and public health checks after landing.
Passengers travelling in groups with different contact details or travel itineraries must submit separate entries.
