After CJP, ‘Lal Hit Janata Party’ formed in Delhi – Here is their agenda

New Delhi: With the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) holding several protests in Delhi and across India, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar, a new pressure group has come up in Delhi to counter it. This group has been named the ‘Lal Hit Janata Party’.

The group held its first meeting at the Malviya Smriti Bhawan in Delhi. This was against the CJP. The party’s chief is Ayan Bhatnagar. Speaking at the event he and several others targeted the CJP and its supporters. They also gave speeches against the protestors who have taken to Delhi streets at least twice in the past 4 months. The speakers said that the protests have questioned the country’s constitutional institutions and also caused losses to businesses.

Meeting to decide the group’s future

The Lal Hit Janata Party said that the agenda of the meeting was to decide the group’s future programmes and strategy. They also wanted to demonstrate that a large number of people can gather at a particular place at a short notice.

He wondered how many people would gather if Prime Minister Narendra Modi were to issue a call for mobilisation against the CJP. Bhatnagar then urged people to move beyond social media and gather on the roads to protest. He said that Dusshera was an apt time for the same as it symbolised the victory of good over evil.

Notably he used words like “insects”, “cockroaches” and “cockroaches-like-creatures” to describe the protestors.

He said that the period between Dusshera and Diwali was the peak business period for traders, and during such a time, disruptions were not good. He said that Connaught Place was a major traders hub and his party would not tolerate disruptions during the time. He also alleged that apart from Delhi, protestors were also trying to disrupt other big cities, apart from Delhi.

How will protestors bring about regime change: Lal Hit Janata Party

Bhatnagar then asked how the protestors plan to bring about regime change. He recalled lawyer Prashant Bhushan’s remarks in this regard, while referring to the threat of the CJP protestors.

Talking about the demand for resignation of CEC Gyanesh Kumar, he said that such demands undermined the public’s confidence in Constitutional institutions. He further said that after the CEC’s resignation, the protestors might demand the resignation of PM Modi himself.

He added that the demands of a particular group cannot be accepted, simply because 50,000 people had gathered in their support.

Bhatnagar said that the Lal Hit Janata Party was formed to protect democracy. He alleged that the CJP protests were aimed at eroding the people’s trust in not only the Election Commission, but also the police.

He said that the CJP was being supported by the Congress Party and the AISA because they wanted to remove the BJP from power.
