‘Advani Ji gave clear foundation to BJP, rooted in nation first’: PM Narendra Modi extends birthday greetings to BJP veteran

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday extended birthday greetings to BJP veteran leader, Lal Krishna Adavani. Taking to his website, narendramodi.in, the PM wrote that LK Advani was entering the 10th year of his life on November 8. He further said that this was a coincidence that his birthday was falling on Diwali day this year, a festival associated with Prabhu Shri Ram and the Diya.

He further said that this was also the year when it had been 75 years since the inception of the Jana Sangh, 125th Jayanti of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee and recently celebrated a hundred years of the RSS.

PM Modi recalled that Advani was born on November 8,1927, the day of Dev Deepawali. He experienced the pain of leaving behind his familiar world in Sindh. He rebuilt his life from scratch without bitterness, said the PM about the veteran BJP leader’s initial days. The PM explained that this trait of being able to build from scratch, against all odds, has stayed with Advani throughout. It was seen while he was strengthening the Jana Sangh and later building the BJP.

He said that it was during the veteran’s tenure as President of BJP when the Congress fell from 400 seats to below 200 in 1989, and the BJP became the single largest party for the first time in 1996. He said that it was Advani who gave a clear foundation rooted in the principle of Nation First to the BJP.
