Abhijeet Dipke warns of another agitation if student protestors are harassed

New Delhi: Cockroach Janata Party founder and President, Abhijeet Dipke on Tuesday warned that his party will respond with a “massive protest” if the alleged harassment of students at the hands of the police continued. He said that the students who took part in the anti-government protests over the NEET-UG paper leak, were being harassed by the authorities, despite the government promising no action against them. This, he claimed, was the reality across India.

‘Government must stop witch hunting’: Abhijeet Dipke on social media

Dipke took to social media platform, ‘X’ on Tuesday evening and said, “If the harassment of students at the hands of the police continues, the Cockroach Janta Party will respond with a massive peaceful protest soon. The Govt must stop targeting and witch-hunting students.”

Dipke said that the government was unfairly targeting those who took part in the protests against the NEET paper leak, which ultimately led to the resignation of the Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan. He warned of a large-scale peaceful demonstration, if this selective targeting of students was not stopped immediately.

The CJP has said that though they called off the agitation after their main demand, of the resignation of Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan was accepted, they said that the movement was far from over. He said that the “protest had a long way to go.” He described the end of the protest as “just the beginning” for the CJP, in an earlier video post, soon after the CJP ended the Jantar Mantar agitation.

Apart from stopping the witch hunt, Dipke demanded that the government must pay Rs 1 crore compensation to the families of the deceased NEET aspirants. The government meanwhile has said that they will provide the maximum possible compensation, without specifying any particular amount.

CJP has also said that they would continue their campaign for educational reforms. Saurav Das, spokesperson for the party told TV9 that they wanted a written guarantee on the withdrawal of FIRs and release of protestors detained or arrested.
