“Closely Following The Development,” Says India New Defence Agreement Between Turkey, Pakistan And Saudi Arabia

In response to the recently signed defense pact between Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan, India stated on Friday that it was “closely following the development.” Amid mounting concerns over regional security, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met in Saudi Arabia and inked the trilateral agreement.

The deal defines an attack on any one member as an attack on all, according to Pakistan’s foreign ministry, making it a significant step for India.

According to news agency, the Pakistan foreign ministry said in a statement that “The Agreement is intended to strengthen collective deterrence against any act of aggression, and stipulates that any armed attack against any one of the three States shall be regarded as an attack against them all. It further provides for the enhancement of all aspects of defence cooperation among the three States.”

Reports stated that the deal is anticipated to open the door for joint military exercises and training, technology transfers, and intelligence sharing, according to earlier reports from Turkey’s Haberturk television and other media outlets.
