Assembly tightens security for session

New Delhi: The Delhi Legislative Assembly has put in place a multi-layered security arrangement ahead of the Monsoon Session beginning on August 7, with around 130 security personnel, a CRPF Quick Response Team (QRT) and enhanced access protocols deployed to ensure smooth and secure proceedings.

The preparations were reviewed during a high-level meeting chaired by Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta at the Assembly Secretariat. Senior officials from the Delhi Police, CRPF, Delhi Fire Services, Bomb Disposal Squad, SWAT teams, Detective Unit, Special Staff, ambulance services and the Assembly Secretariat participated in the review. Ahead of the session, Delhi Police conducted a comprehensive mock drill at the Assembly complex to assess operational preparedness, emergency response capabilities and coordination among various security agencies. Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Devesh Shrivastava informed the Speaker that all security arrangements had been completed and the police were fully prepared for the session.
