Uttar Pradesh races ahead in rooftop solar

Lucknow: As many as 17 districts of Uttar Pradesh have been named among the country’s top 100 districts in terms of rooftop solar installations under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana, according to an official release.

This achievement not only reflects the rapid expansion of solar energy across the state but also stands as evidence of Uttar Pradesh’s strong progress towards energy self-reliance, the state government said.

Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) Director Ravinder Singh said, “State capital Lucknow has retained the distinction of being the country’s number 1 district with the installation of 1,24,167 rooftop solar plants.”
