PM Modi Launches ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva Abhiyan’, And Urged Youths To Lead The Movement

The “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan” was introduced on Sunday by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and claimed that the drug supply was a component of hostile nations’ “terror plan” to harm India’s interests.

PM Modi expressed his opinion that young people were “aware” and “responsible” of their responsibilities and called on them to spearhead the campaign. He said, “More than one crore youths from different sectors, institutions and backgrounds have come together today. I urge all of you to lead this movement. You have strengthened my belief that India’s youth is aware, responsible and serious about their duties,”

He went on to say that when a young person “falls prey” to drug addiction, it affects more than just that person. “Hostile nations conspire and leave no stone unturned to drag our youth into the trap of addiction. Profiting from the supply of drugs while aiming to destroy a country like ours is part of their terror-driven agenda…” PM Modi said.

According to the PTI news agency, the Prime Minister virtually inaugurated the campaign in front of a sizable group of young people who identified as Gen-Z representatives. The goal of the anti-drug campaign, which also signaled the start of the 100-week national “Jan Bhagidari” campaign, is to end youth substance misuse.

Every Sunday, events will be held across as part of the campaign to raise awareness and promote public involvement. Sports competitions, walkathons, meditation sessions, cultural events, awareness initiatives, etc. will all fall under this category. The next 100 Sundays will be “100 strong steps” toward a drug-free India, according to Prime Minister Modi.

PM Modi stated that thousands of young people nationwide had pledged to abstain from narcotics at the drive’s inauguration.

He claimed that NGOs and social organisations had joined the campaign. Through the Kashi Declaration, they have jointly prepared a roadmap. “Today, we are witnessing how the welfare-oriented idea that emerged from Kashi has become a national project,” PM Modi said.

The campaign was for people, families, and society, he continued, but “above all, it is for the nation.” As the nation works toward “the goal of Viksit Bharat,” the prime minister stated that it is crucial that young people “remain physically and mentally healthy and stay away from drugs and other such harmful substances.”
