Actress Aditi Sharma accuses husband, in-laws of domestic violence; Mumbai Police register FIR
New Delhi: Television actor Aditi Sharma has accused her husband and two of his family members of domestic violence, assault and harassment, with Mumbai Police registering an FIR and launching an investigation into the allegations.

An FIR was registered at Goregaon Police Station on July 31 against Aditi’s husband, Abhineet Vidyanand Kaushik, his mother Urmila Kaushik (65) and sister Kirti Kaushik (29). The case is currently under investigation.
Shows including Apollena – Sapno Ki Unchi Udaan, Rabb Se Hai Dua and Kaleerein brought popularity for Aditi Sharma.
Alleging that she was subjected to physical and mental cruelty after her marriage, she accused the three of assault, verbal abuse, questioning her character and misusing her stridhan, including her bridal jewellery.
In the FIR, it was mentioned that Aditi first met Abhineet during an online acting class in June 2021. Their friendship eventually turned into a relationship, and the couple began living together in September 2024 before marrying on November 12, 2024, with the approval of both families.
The actor claimed that the relationship deteriorated soon after the wedding. She alleged that disagreements initially began over everyday matters, including her clothing, before escalating into repeated disputes. She further claimed that her husband regularly took money from her instead of sharing household expenses.
Aditi also alleged that an argument on January 1, 2025, led to a further breakdown in the relationship. The FIR further stated that her husband later became suspicious of Aditi, accusing her of infidelity, frequently checking her mobile phone and eventually started sleeping in a separate room. The actress also alleged that she was discouraged from communicating with her parents.
The complaint further states that Aditi’s mother-in-law retained her bridal jewellery, including gold chains, rings, a diamond ring, bangles and her mangalsutra. Despite repeated requests, the valuables were allegedly not returned.
Besides, Aditi accused her mother-in-law and sister-in-law of supporting her husband during family discussions and continuing to harass her instead of helping resolve the disputes.
Based on her complaint, Mumbai Police have registered an FIR against the three accused and initiated an investigation. No statement from the accused has been made public so far, and the allegations have not been independently verified.
