Grand Trailer of Ramayana: Part 1 Unveiled Globally

Bengaluru: The official trailer of Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana: Part 1, one of the most anticipated and ambitious films in the history of Indian cinema, was unveiled globally today. Released in Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam, the trailer has captivated audiences worldwide with its spectacular visuals, scale, and emotional depth.

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana: Part 1 is produced by Prime Focus Studios, the Oscar-winning VFX powerhouse DNEG, and Monster Mind Creations, founded by pan-India star Yash. The film is slated for a worldwide theatrical release during Diwali 2026, with Sony Pictures handling global distribution and Dharma Productions distributing the film across North India.

Inspired by one of the world’s greatest and oldest epics, Ramayana is envisioned as a landmark two-part cinematic saga. The film explores the timeless battle between Lord Rama and the mighty demon king Ravana, presenting an epic tale of righteousness, sacrifice, courage, and the triumph of good over evil.

The stellar cast features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, while Yash portrays the formidable Ravana and also serves as co-producer through Monster Mind Creations. Sai Pallavi plays Sita, Ravi Dubey appears as Lakshmana, veteran actor Arun Govil portrays King Dasharatha, Shobana plays Kaikesi, Ajinkya Deo essays Sage Vishwamitra, Kunal Kapoor portrays Lord Indra, and Rakul Preet Singh takes on the role of Shurpanakha.

The screenplay has been written by National Award-winning writer Shridhar Raghavan. Adding to the film’s grandeur is an extraordinary musical collaboration between Academy Award-winning composers A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer, bringing together two of the world’s most celebrated musical visionaries for the first time.

Speaking about the project, producer Namit Malhotra said, “Ramayana is not merely an epic; it is a way of life and a legacy of values passed down through generations. It has always been my dream to present India’s greatest story on the world’s biggest stage. Today, with exceptional artists and cutting-edge technology, we are proud to bring this timeless masterpiece to global audiences.”

Director Nitesh Tiwari added, “Ramayana is extraordinary not only because of its epic scale but also because of the timeless values it represents. It has been my responsibility to tell this story with authenticity, respect, and emotional honesty. We hope audiences experience not just the visual spectacle but also the soul and humanity of this immortal epic.”

The film also showcases the creative excellence of DNEG, the globally acclaimed visual effects studio with nearly three decades of experience and eight Academy Awards. Prime Focus Studios, under Namit Malhotra’s leadership, recently delivered the internationally successful The Garfield Movie, while Monster Mind Creations continues to champion large-scale cinematic storytelling through projects including Toxic and Ramayana.

With a powerhouse cast, visionary filmmakers, groundbreaking visual effects, and a historic collaboration between A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer, Ramayana: Part 1 promises to redefine Indian cinema on the global stage when it releases in theatres worldwide during Diwali 2026.
