‘Amit Shah should resign’: Cockroach Janata Party founder Abhijeet Dipke

New Delhi: Cockroach Janata Party founder Abhijeet Dipke on Thursday said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah should resign, taking responsibility for the alleged police action on protesting students on July 20. He thus backed the recent demand made by Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi on the matter. Gandhi speaking in the Lower House on Wednesday had demanded that Shah should resign.

Dipke said that the police action on student protestors at Jantar Mantar was carried out on the directions of the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah. Speaking to press persons, in his hometown, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in Maharashtra, he alleged that such police force and action could not have been deployed, without prior approval from the top leadership of the country.

Dipke said, “The way the students were attacked by the police and their blood was spilled into the roads, could not have happened without Shah’s orders.” The CJP leader said, “I also believe that he (Shah) should resign.”

On Wednesday Rahul Gandhi had alleged in the Lok Sabha that pellet guns were used on protestors in Delhi. He asked to know, who ordered the crackdown on students at Jantar Mantar. Responding to the charge, Union Minister of State, Jitendra Singh told Gandhi that any order for lathi charge or use of force is issued by a magistrate and a Minister does not have any role to play in it. He also clarified that no shots were fired during the students protests in Delhi.

‘If CJP received foreign funding, this is Shah’s failure’: Dipke

Dipke also addressed the allegation that the CJP received foreign funding. He said that if indeed his political outfit received foreign funding, this clearly showed the failure of the Union Home Ministry and Amit Shah.

Turning the tables on Shah he said, “If we are receiving foreign funds despite Shah being at the helm of the home ministry, then it is also his failure. What kind of Chanakya are you then? In that case, he [Shah] should also resign”, reported moneycontrol.com.

Dipke also accused the Delhi Police of staging evidence to justify the crackdown. Attacking the police force he said that a truck carrying stones and a damaged vehicle was brought to Jantar Mantar, to give an impression that the protestors had turned violent. The Delhi Police wanted to prove that it was the protestors who brought the stone carrying truck and protestors had turned violent and therefore the police intervened.
