Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana bags record RS 75 crore music rights deal ahead of trailer launch
Mumbai: Bollywood Ranbir Kapoor‘s Ramayana is making headlines everyday. The movie has become among the most talked about films before the release. The film has acquired one of the highest music rights deals in Indian cinema as T-Series has bought the audio rights for both the parts of the film. Reports claim that it happened just after director Nitesh Tiwari announced that the movie will have two parts.

According to reports the deal was very competitive as various top labels tried to acquire the rights of soundtracks. T-series has acquired the audio rights after various rounds of talks with an advance of Rs 75 crore. The sources also revealed that it was a refundable advance, which made it quite an unusual deal despite its hefty sum.
A close associate at T-Series was quoted by a leading publication saying, “T-Series has acquired the music rights of Ramayana. Bhushan Kumar and the senior leadership at T-Series are supremely confident about the potential of the film’s soundtrack.”
The reports said that T-Series has paid an advance of Rs 75 crore for the music rights and the amount covers the music of both parts of Ramayana. The deal is among the biggest music rights deals in India. A.R.Rahman and Hans Zimmer are working together on the music of the film.
The makers have not yet released the trailer of the movie but it was shown to few eminent journalists and industry insiders. The malkers said that the trailer will be unveiled worldwide on July 30 at 4:15 am IST after its earlier launch date was pushed back.
The film is produced by Namit Malhotra and it stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman.
