CM Chandrababu sets target to win ZPTC and MPTC seats

TDP national president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has directed alliance leaders and workers to win all Zilla Parishad and Mandal Praja Parishad (MPP) seats in the forthcoming ZPTC and MPTC elections.

On Wednesday, Naidu held a teleconference from Amaravati with leaders and workers of the alliance parties, offering guidance ahead of the local body polls.

He said the recent local election results showed that voters would continue to support the alliance if it stood by them. Naidu praised party leaders and workers for their efforts in securing a 94 per cent success rate in the urban local body elections.

The victories in municipalities and corporations had increased the alliance’s responsibilities, he said, describing the results as an endorsement of its commitment to welfare, development and good governance.

Naidu congratulated everyone who contributed to the victory of alliance candidates, adding that the urban results were in line with expectations. He assured those who had failed to secure seats in the local elections that they would be considered for nominated posts.

He said “good governance and good politics” remained the alliance government’s core principles.
