New Delhi: Actor Amrita Arora Ladak has found herself in the spotlight after sharing pictures of her noticeable weight loss transformation on social media. While her new look has caught everyone’s attention, it has also led to questions about how she managed to lose weight in just months.
Now, the actor has opened up about her 14 kg weight loss and addressed speculation surrounding popular weight loss drugs such as Ozempic and Mounjaro.
Amrita Arora opens up about losing 14 Kgs
Amrita Arora, who has largely stayed away from films in recent years, described her transformation with just one word on Instagram, “Redemption”. However, for Amrita, the change was never just about looking different. It was also about feeling better and finding her way back to herself.
Speaking to the Hindustan Times, the 45-year-old actor said the journey involved both emotional and physical changes. She explained that she had reached a point where she felt happy with herself again and was finally back where she wanted to be.
She said, “I took it as a challenge for myself. I was the worst version of myself for two to three years.”
Amrita revealed that she had lost 14 kg over the past few months. She said she treated the process as a personal challenge, especially after going through a difficult phase over the previous two to three years.
Reflecting on that period, the actor admitted that she was not feeling her best. Getting back to a place where she felt comfortable and happy with herself became an important goal.

With people frequently discussing weight-loss medications such as Ozempic and Mounjaro, Amrita’s transformation also became a talking point online. Some social media users began speculating about whether she had used these drugs to shed the kilos.
Addressing the conversation, the actor pointed out that people seemed to have forgotten what she looked like before her weight gain.
She said, “Sadly, it has come at a time when all these words are flying around. I’ve been extremely petite since my early days, and throughout my career… even after having two kids. It was only 2023 that I kind of fell off the rails and that is what stuck weirdly most with people.”
Amrita also made it clear that she does not intend to let online speculation bother her. “I let people say what they want to because they are going to say things regardless. It’s all good,” she added.
