‘40% ground empty’: BJP calls INDIA bloc’s Ramlila Maidan rally ‘super flop’
New Delhi: The BJP on Sunday dismissed the INDIA bloc’s rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan as a “super flop”, with party MP Sambit Patra claiming that around 40 per cent of the venue remained empty.

Patra questioned the opposition’s claims about the gathering and asked where the 10 lakh people it had expected to assemble were. He shared a video and targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over the turnout.
BJP questions crowd size
“Rahul Gandhi is speaking and empty chairs. Congress couldn’t even fill full Ramlila Maidan of capacity 50,000. Super Flop rally,” Patra said.
Speaking to reporters, he said the BJP had followed the rally since morning and listened to Gandhi’s speech. He described the exercise as a “complete waste of time”.
“Where were the 10 lakh people? Show us. No one becomes a leader or Prime Minister through such tricks.
PM doesn’t just mean Prime Minister. P stands for Paseena (sweat) and M stands for Mehnat (hard work). A Prime Minister is made through sweat and hard work. Despite bringing together so many parties and flags, they could not manage to gather 10 lakh people,” he said.
Patra targets Rahul Gandhi
Patra accused the opposition of using camera angles to make the crowd appear larger. He called the visuals “trick photography”.
He also attacked Gandhi, saying, “Rahul ji, Hindustan is not your abujan’s property.
Hindustan belongs to Hindustanis. Here, even a chaiwala can become the Prime Minister, and that is what bothers you.”
Opposition raises election allegations
The INDIA bloc organised the rally to protest alleged electoral irregularities and raise its allegations of ‘vote chori’. During his address, Gandhi claimed that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar would lose his post and face imprisonment for “treason” in the future.
He also warned Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah of legal action over alleged vote theft.
“Amit Shah ji said Narendra Modi is not going anywhere. I am telling you the opposite: Narendra Modi cannot go anywhere; even if he wants to go, we will not let him,” Gandhi said. He added that the opposition would confront the two leaders after pursuing action against Kumar.
