Kangana Ranaut performs Karwa Chauth puja for PM Modi? Here’s the truth behind viral clip
New Delhi: A video of actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut praying for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s health and long life has taken over social media, with an unexpected Karwa Chauth twist. The clip resurfaced around the festival on Thursday (October 29), prompting some users to claim that Kangana had performed special Karwa Chauth rituals for the Prime Minister.

But before the internet runs with that narrative, let us tell you that the video is old and has nothing to do with Karwa Chauth 2026.
What’s in the video?
In the viral clip, Kangana is seen offering prayers at a temple while dressed in a crimson-red and multicoloured double ikat Patan Patola saree. As the footage began circulating around Karwa Chauth, its timing appears to have fuelled speculation that her prayers for PM Modi’s longevity were linked to the festival.

Truth behind Kangana Ranaut’s viral video
The video dates back to June 2026, months before this year’s Karwa Chauth celebrations. Kangana had visited the Shree Chamunda Mata Temple and Gajanan Maharaj Temple in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, during promotional activities for her film Bharat Bhagya Vidhata.
During the visit, the actor-politician offered prayers for PM Modi and marked his completion of 4,400 days in office. Kangana herself had shared the footage on Instagram on June 11. In her original post, she explained the reason behind her prayers, writing, “I prayed to God to bless him with excellent health, immense strength and a long life,” adding that she hoped the coming decade under his leadership would bring development, prosperity, security and pride to India.
Her original caption, therefore, places the video in an entirely different context from the claims now circulating online.
