Amitabh Bachchan keeps his Sunday promise to fans despite alleged threat, security tightened outside Jalsa

Mumbai: An alleged security threat may have prompted additional precautions outside Amitabh Bachchan’s Juhu residence, Jalsa, but it did not stop the megastar from keeping his customary Sunday appointment with fans.

The 84-year-old actor stepped out of his bungalow on Sunday evening to greet the admirers who had gathered to catch a glimpse of him. Wearing a pink cap and jacket, Bachchan climbed onto a raised platform near the entrance and waved to his fans, continuing a tradition he has maintained for decades.

However, this Sunday’s gathering was marked by unusually tight security. Unlike previous occasions, fans were kept at a considerable distance from the bungalow’s gates, while security personnel maintained a close watch on bystanders and movement around the premises.

Adding to the heightened precautions was the presence of his son, actor Abhishek Bachchan, who stood right behind his father as the veteran star climbed onto the platform to acknowledge the crowd.

While the security arrangements were visibly more stringent, Bachchan appeared determined not to disappoint his admirers, many of whom make it a point to gather outside Jalsa every Sunday.

The weekly interaction has become a longstanding tradition, with fans arriving from different parts of the country in the hope of seeing the superstar, even if only for a few moments.

Despite the alleged threat and the increased security presence, Bachchan’s appearance ensured that his Sunday ritual remained uninterrupted.

Meanwhile, on the work front, the veteran actor is currently shooting for Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC). A special episode centred on Ramayana is expected to air in the coming week.
