Netflix’s Obsession set for November 17 release, just 48 hours before GTA 6 launches
Horror fans have another date to mark on their calendars. Obsession, one of 2026’s biggest surprise horror hits, is coming to Netflix in the United States on November 17, just two days before Rockstar Games launches Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) on November 19. The film, directed by Curry Barker, stars Michael Johnston and Inde Navarrette in a disturbing story about love, obsession and a wish that takes a frightening turn.

Netflix has confirmed the November 17 streaming date through a teaser shared on social media. The film previously arrived in American cinemas on May 15 and later began streaming on Peacock in July. Its Netflix release will introduce the horror thriller to another audience, though the November 17 date currently applies to the United States. An Indian Netflix release date has not been confirmed.

What is Netflix’s Obsession about?
The film follows Bear, played by Michael Johnston, a young man who has romantic feelings for his friend Nikki.
When Bear encounters a mysterious object known as the One Wish Willow, he makes a wish that changes their relationship in unexpected ways.
What follows is a psychological horror story exploring attraction, emotional dependence and the consequences of trying to control another person’s feelings.
The film draws inspiration from W. W. Jacobs’ classic short story The Monkey’s Paw.
