Jailer 2 Box Office Collection Day 3: Rajinikanth’s film races towards Rs 150 crore after a Saturday surge
New Delhi: Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 is building on its strong start at the Indian box office, with the action drama recording a substantial jump in collections on Saturday. After opening in cinemas on Thursday amid considerable anticipation, the Nelson Dilipkumar directorial has crossed Rs 144 crore in domestic net earnings within three days, according to Sacnilk’s latest figures. Its growing total puts the film within reach of the Rs 150 crore mark as it heads into the rest of the weekend.

Jailer 2 box office collection day 3
The film’s impressive opening was preceded by strong advance sales. Bookings in India began on October 10, five days before the theatrical release, while pre-sales had opened in some overseas markets a day earlier. By the end of October 14, worldwide advance bookings had reportedly exceeded Rs 80 crore.
In India, Jailer 2 sold around 18 lakh tickets through opening-day pre-sales, generating approximately Rs 37 crore. The film went on to collect Rs 59.70 crore net on Thursday across 15,887 shows, setting the pace for its opening weekend. Friday brought in another Rs 37.10 crore.
The latest Sacnilk update puts Saturday’s collection at Rs 47.80 crore. This takes the film’s three-day domestic net total to ₹144.60 crore, with the Saturday business marking a notable recovery from Friday’s figures. The film has already moved past Rs 100 crore and is now approaching the next major milestone of Rs 150 crore.
However, Jailer 2 has not matched the pace of Rajinikanth’s previous release, Coolie, which crossed Rs 100 crore in India within its first two days. The latest figures indicate that the sequel is building a sizeable box-office total, even as it trails that benchmark.
What is Jailer 2 about?
The first Jailer introduced audiences to Muthuvel Pandian, played by Rajinikanth, a retired jailer who tries to lead a peaceful life with his family after leaving the force. His quiet existence is disrupted when his son, an honest police officer investigating an idol-smuggling network, disappears and is believed to have been killed.
In Jailer 2, Pandian faces a new threat when his past returns to haunt him. He must protect his family while confronting a dangerous underworld empire operating on a global scale.
The film features Vidya Balan, S J Suryah, Ramya Krishnan and Suraj Venjaramoodu alongside Rajinikanth. Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar and Hrithik Roshan are among the stars making cameo appearances.
