CJP Challenges Jantar Mantar De-notification; Police Register Four FIRs Against Congress
The opposition alleges police brutality. In court, they claim that the government was not permitting their legitimate right to protest, but what is being witnessed on the streets of Delhi is different.

The Congress party claimed that about 2.5 lakh people had participated in the rally led by LoP Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday. Police claim that this rally had no permission.
Meanwhile, the competitive protests continued on Tuesday as (CJP) leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka sneaked into Jantar Mantar early this morning before they were picked up by Delhi Police.
In a post on X, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke said: “we have regained Jantar Mantar.” Several other team members, including Ajinkya Shinde, had also been detained. He said Ranka, Das, Shinde and other team members have been detained. “You cannot denotify the resistance,” he added, tagging Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He also shared a video in which the CJP members were shown jumping over the gate to enter Jantar Mantar raising slogans, “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.”
The BJP criticised this attitude of the CJP and opposition leaders who feel that they would dictate who should be the chief justice, who should be the CEC, and where protests should be allowed or not allowed. This is nothing but an attempt to create anarchy, they add.
The detentions come amid heightened security in New Delhi following calls for protests by different organisations against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.
Delhi Police has deployed a large number of personnel across the city to maintain law and order.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Police registered four FIRs in connection with the INDIA bloc’s protest march to the Supreme Court, police sources said. FIRs have been filed for violation of Section 163 of BNSS. The cases were registered at the Connaught Place, Tilak Marg, Mandir Marg, and Barakhamba police stations.
Two FIRs have been filed at the Tilak Marg police station, one at the Mandir Marg police station, and one at the Barakhamba police station, according to Delhi Police sources.
