Modi’s 25 yrs a journey for welfare of poor: Shah in Har
Gurugram: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday hailed Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public office, describing the career as a journey for the welfare of the country and for the welfare of the poor.

The day, October 7, is “golden and epochal” in the history of Indian democracy, Shah said, addressing a gathering here. Shah was listening to a speech at the event along with Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Union Minister and Gurugram MP Rao Inderjit Singh, and the party’s newly appointed Haryana affairs in-charge Smriti Irani. Modi on Wednesday, while addressing the ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha’ on his completion of 25 years as head of government, gave the slogan — “We Will Do It” — for the goal of a developed country by 2047.
Shah here said Modi’s years as the head of a government—first in Gujarat and then at the Centre—have been 25 years of welfare for crores of citizens, 25 years of India’s pride, and prayed for his long life.
“We have organised this Seva Jyoti Yatra in every district across the country” to make this journey memorable, he said. Shah also praised Modi for powering through his struggles despite being born in a poor family. “Over these 25 years: freedom from poverty, a secure India, the abrogation of Article 370, the elimination of Naxalism, the construction of the Ram Janmabhoomi and Kashi Vishwanath temples, taking the country’s infrastructure to the next level, and lifting 25 crore poor citizens above the poverty line…,” Shah said, listing Modi’s achievements at the Centre.
