‘His opinions are worthless’: Doctor Strange director slams Elon Musk over AI Odyssey remark

New Delhi: Elon Musk said that his AI tool Grok Imagine will create a “historically accurate” version of Homer’s Odyssey, following the big success of ‘s popular movie, which the SpaceX founder has repeatedly criticised for its choice of actors.

is not the first movie Musk has criticised on X. He also made fun of Barbie for its feminist ideas and Disney’s Snow White remake featuring Rachel Zegler.

Hollywood director slams Elon Musk

Elon Musk’s campaign against Christopher Nolan’s y has surprised many people in Hollywood after the newly named trillionaire promised that before the year ends, his AI tool Grok “will make a full-length movie of The Odyssey that is historically accurate and true to the art of Homer.” Musk also posted a three-minute video of an AI-made scene based on the poem, which was created by a user using Grok.

One famous figure from the movie industry, Doctor Strange and The Black Phone”director Scott Derrickson, reacted to Musk’s remark on social media. “Clearly @elonmusk doesn’t know shit about cinema and he stopped reading in his 20s. His opinions on art are worthless,” Derrickson wrote on Musk’s social media platform, X (formerly Twitter). However, he deleted his post later.

Musk targeted The Odyssey before release

The Tesla head spoke against Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey long before its release because he felt some casting choices were “woke.” In March, Musk wrote that “Chris Nolan is an anti-white racist” for giving Lupita Nyong’o the role of Helen of Troy, claiming the director made this choice because “he wants the awards.” Musk stated that “Chris Nolan has lost his integrity” and called the choice of actors an “insult” to Homer.

Musk also targeted Elliott Page, who plays Sinon in The Odyssey, sharing posts that made fun of the transgender actor’s masculinity.

The negative reaction to The Odyssey did not seem to affect its success. The big movie starring Matt Damon earned $264 million around the world when it opened and keeps selling out shows months ahead of time.
