Varanasi: Synopsis of Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu’s project revealed

SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu are all set to release their highly anticipated project, Varanasi which will see the former experimenting with mythology, sci-fi and global adventure. As per reports, the team will complete the shoot by October 2026 and release the film on April 7, 2027.

The film’s brand partner Sky-Blu Cinematix unveiled the synopsis of the film on their official websiteAs per the description, “It is the year 2027 and a giant asteroid called Shambhavi is on a collision course with Varanasi. A battle-hardened, grizzled archaeologist and adventurer named Rudhra (Mahesh Babu) gets hired to recover a certain cosmic artifact from the ancient ruins. An indefatigable historian, crack shot, and Mandakini (Priyanka Chopra Jonas) help Rudhra in his adventures from the African jungle, the Antarctic wastes, and Europe. Together they have to outwit the genius villain Kumbha (Prithviraj Sukumaran) who has been shadowing them”. Their quest leads them to unravel the secrets of the legendary city of Varanasi of yore.”

As per the synopsis, SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi attempts futuristic concepts with Indian mythology and has attracted the attention of netizens for its unique concept.

While KL Narayana is producing the film under Sri Durga Arts banner, MM Keeravani has scored the music. Overall, it has turned out to be one of the most awaited Indian film releases of 2027 featuring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Prithviraj Sukumaran in lead roles.
