Youth are nation’s economic strength: Dr Manjunath

Bengaluru: The role of youth is very important in the development of our country. Youth are not only the future of the nation, but also its economic strength, said MP Dr C N Manjunath.

Speaking after participating in the inauguration programme of the first-year engineering classes organised by BMS College of Engineering (BMSCE) at Basavanagudi, he said, “Today, there are immense opportunities for youth to develop their talents and capabilities. Along with education, youth should focus more on skill development, technology, innovation and entrepreneurship. We must give priority to the holistic development of youth. Along with academic knowledge, they should also develop good personality, leadership qualities, communication skills and social responsibility.”

“Investing in youth is very essential for the development of the country. In today’s growing economy, there are innumerable opportunities for youth. By making use of these opportunities, youth should not only build their future but also contribute to the economic development of the country. Youth should play a key role in making India a developed nation. If the energy, knowledge and skills of youth are utilised in the right direction, India can develop even faster,” he said.

BMSCE Principal Dr Bhimesh Arya, Vice-Principal Dr. D Sheshalachalam, Dean Dr Jyothi S Nayak and others were present.
