Adverse weather conditions are suspected to have played a role in the incident, although the exact cause of the crash has not yet been established.
Two emergency landings reported earlier this month
The latest incident comes weeks after two emergency landings involving helicopters operating on Char Dham routes were reported in Uttarakhand. In one incident, a helicopter had to make an emergency landing in Rudraprayag due to poor weather conditions. Another aircraft was forced to land in Tehri following a technical issue.
The latest crash has once again raised concerns over helicopter operations in Uttarakhand’s mountainous regions where unpredictable weather and poor visibility can pose challenges for aircraft.
