UP Parties in Poll Mode, Step Up Alliance Talks Ahead of 2027
New Delhi: All major political parties in Uttar Pradesh appear to have gone into election mode, with intense consultations underway among some Opposition parties to explore the possibility of pre-poll alliances. The emerging view appears to be that no single party may be able to take on the BJP on its own.

According to , his party is in talks with other like-minded parties, and a clearer picture is expected to emerge by October 2. Owaisi, however, did not disclose the names of the parties with which the AIMIM is holding discussions. He suggested that Opposition parties should consider working together.
He said that while negotiating an alliance with other parties, the AIMIM was simultaneously preparing to contest the elections on its own. The party, he said, wants to strengthen the political representation of Muslims in the state.
Owaisi expressed confidence that AIMIM candidates would enter the this time.
He argued that the Muslim community should have greater political agency, with leadership emerging from within the community.
“We hope that this time, God willing, our candidates will win and enter the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly,” he said.
Owaisi said it was necessary for the Muslim community to have its own political leadership in the . “Every community here has its own political leadership, but such a large community has been completely sidelined politically,” he said.
Owaisi’s remarks come ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, for which the AIMIM has begun intensifying its organisational activities and public outreach.
