Tragic Death At IMS-BHU: 26-Year-Old Junior Doctor Found Dead In Hostel Room
A suspected suicide case has surfaced from the IMS-BHU campus in Varanasi, where a 26-year-old junior doctor was discovered dead in his hostel room, purportedly after giving himself an IV drip of anaesthesia medicines.

The deceased was identified as Ritwik Kundu, a resident of Hooghly, West Bengal, who was doing his residency at the Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University (IMS-BHU) in the Department of Anaesthesiology.
Officials claim that after Ritwik failed to show up for work and duty, his coworkers began searching for him. The issue was brought to the attention of the BHU management after many knocks on his room door at Sushrut Hostel remained unanswered. Ritwik was discovered unconscious on his bed with an IV drip in his hand after the room was violently opened.
According to preliminary investigations, he might have received anaesthesia drugs by drip, which could have resulted in an overdose. However, authorities stated that forensic analysis and post-mortem examination are the only ways to determine the precise cause of death.
A handwritten suicide note was also found in the room by investigators. According to reports, Ritwik apologised to his parents in the note for failing to live up to their expectations. He wrote that he was terminating his life voluntarily and that life was far more difficult than it seemed on the outside.
In addition, the statement asked that no one be held accountable for his passing, especially a young woman he described as having shown him a lot of love and support. He ended the letter by saying goodbye to his loved ones, friends, and the entire globe.
The body has been taken into custody and an inquiry has been started by the police. While they wait for the post-mortem report to determine the exact cause of death, authorities are investigating every facet of the case.
