Team India pacer Arshdeep Singh equals world record in 3rd T20I against New Zealand
New Delhi: Team India pacer Arshdeep Singh on Tuesday equalled the record for most wickets by a bowler from a full-member nation in a calendar year in T20Is. The left-arm pacer achieved the feat during the 3rd T20I between and New Zealand at the Hnry Stadium in Wellington.

Arshdeep needed only one wicket to equal Ireland pacer Josh Little’s tally of 39 wickets and match the record for most wickets in a calendar year in T20Is by a bowler from a full-member nation. He managed to achieve the feat with the wicket of New Zealand opener Tim Seifert in the second over of his side’s innings.
Arshdeep got India off to a good start after the visitors won the toss and opted to bowl first in the game. With movement on offer, Arshdeep managed to trap Siefert, who was caught by Axar Patel to get dismissed cheaply on just 2 off 6 balls. The wicket helped Arshdeep extend his tally to 29 scalps in 2026, which is the joint-most by a player from a full-member nation in T20Is.
Little picked up 39 wickets in 26 T20Is for Ireland in a calendar year in 2022, while Arshdeep has managed to equal his tally in 30 matches in 2026 so far. Wanindu Hasaranga is in the second spot with 38 wickets in 20 matches for Sri Lanka in 2022.
