Successful ghat trial by Vande Bharat Express

Hassan : Residents of Hassan district move nearer to a long-held aspiration as the trial journey of the modern Vande Bharat Express succeeds along the demanding Shiradi Ghat stretch linking Sakleshpura with Kukke Subramanya. The twenty-coach train will shortly enter regular public operation between Bengaluru and Mangaluru, delivering both speed and comfort to travellers.

The experimental run commenced from Sakleshpura railway station and reached Kukke Subramanya in Dakshina Kannada, navigating the steep gradients and numerous bends that define the ghat section and thereby setting a fresh record.

Local BJP legislator S Manjunatha welcomed the train at Sakleshpura station with a special ritual, shared sweets and joined the celebration. He had earlier met railway minister of state V Somanna repeatedly to press for the service in this region.

Full completion of electrification works along the Sakleshpura corridor has now enabled the ongoing trial process. Reportedly designed to carry one thousand and eighty passengers simultaneously in ease, the train incorporates an advanced automatic emergency braking system that ensures secure movement across the sharp descents of the hilly terrain.

Once the present successful trials conclude, public availability is expected without delay. Travellers across Hassan and the coastal districts strongly hope that scheduled runs of the Vande Bharat Express will begin at the earliest
