Samsung One UI 9 Update: Android 17 Reaches Galaxy S26 Series

The Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 plus and Galaxy S26 Ultra are some of the devices to get the newest software. Samsung is likely to continue sending the update to phones and tablets in steps with the availability depending on the location and the phone company.
Galaxy Devices Eligible for One UI 9
Alongside the Galaxy S26 lineup, Samsung has confirmed that One UI 9 will also reach its upcoming foldable devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8.
The Galaxy S26 FE, meanwhile, is set to launch in India with One UI 9 pre-installed. However, Samsung has not announced a complete rollout schedule covering every eligible Galaxy device.
My FanCam Gets AI-Powered Tracking
One of the notable additions in One UI 9 is an AI-enhanced version of My FanCam. The feature is designed to track a selected person in recorded videos and keep the camera focused on them.
This functionality could prove useful when recording concerts, stage performances, sporting events and other activities where subjects move frequently. Users can create clips without having to manually adjust the camera focus throughout the recording.
Now Brief and Now Nudge Receive Updates
Samsung is also improving its Now Brief feature with generative and editable cards. These additions allow users to customise the information displayed in their daily summaries.
Now Nudge is designed to offer contextual suggestions while users interact with supported applications. For example, it can help save reservation details or locations shared in conversations without requiring users to switch away from the current screen.
The update also includes improvements to Creative Studio, Interpreter, document scanning and voice recording, expanding the range of productivity and creative tools available on supported Galaxy devices.
One UI 9 Adds New Security Features
Security and privacy are another focus of the software update. Samsung is introducing Security Brief and privacy warnings to alert users to potential risks, including unusual app activity and permission requests.
The company is also expanding scam-protection capabilities to additional markets. In addition, a new Warranty and Care section in Settings brings warranty information, device diagnostics, repair estimates and Samsung Care+ management into one place.
More Galaxy Phones to Receive the Update
The Galaxy S26 series is at the centre of Samsung’s initial One UI 9 rollout, while more compatible smartphones and tablets are expected to receive the update in stages.
