S Jaishankar, Former Army Chief Among Delhi Voters Issued SIR Notices

S Jaishankar, Wife Receive SIR Notices

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and his wife, Kyoko S Jaishankar, are among several prominent Delhi voters who have received notices from the Election Commission of India (ECI) as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

The notices classify the couple as “unmapped with last SIR”, meaning their current voter records could not be linked to entries prepared during the previous revision exercise conducted in 2002.

Jaishankar and his wife are registered voters in the Sunder Bagh electoral part of the New Delhi Assembly constituency.

Former Army Chief Upendra Dwivedi Also Flagged

Former Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi and his wife, Sunita Dwivedi, have also been served notices under the same electoral roll revision process.

The Dwivedis are registered as voters in the New Delhi Assembly constituency and have similarly been placed in the “unmapped with last SIR” category.

The notices are part of the Election Commission’s ongoing verification exercise in Assembly Constituency 40, or the New Delhi constituency.

Notices Issued To CPM MP’s Family Members

The Election Commission has also issued notices to Sheba Britas, wife of CPM MP John Britas, and their son, Anand Britas.

Both are registered voters in the New Delhi constituency.

According to the notices, Sheba Britas was flagged over a “self-name mismatch”, while Anand Britas was identified for a “parent-name mismatch”. The discrepancy in Anand’s record may be connected to the mismatch found in his mother’s electoral details.

What The SIR Notices Mean

The notices are being issued as part of the Election Commission’s scrutiny of electoral records during the Special Intensive Revision.

The “unmapped” classification indicates that a voter’s current entry could not be matched with the corresponding electoral records from the previous revision. Such notices are part of the verification process and do not, by themselves, establish that a voter is ineligible to remain on the electoral roll.

The latest notices have brought several high-profile names in the New Delhi constituency into focus as the ECI continues its revision exercise.
