Rs 5.5 crore hashish oil seized in Anakapalli
Anakapalli: District police busted an interstate drug trafficking network and seized 43 litres of hashish oil valued at approximately Rs 5.5 crore, which was transported from Odisha to Kerala through Anakapalli district.

Following directions from District Superintendent of Police Tuhin Sinha, police intensified surveillance and vehicle checks across the district.
Based on credible information, police conducted raids at M Koduru junction under V Madugula police limits. During the operation, officers intercepted a passenger auto rickshaw and a motorcycle travelling suspiciously from the Paderu ghat road. The police found 43 packets of hashish oil, each containing approximately one litre.
Police seized the auto-rickshaw and motorcycle used for transportation and arrested five persons identified as K Rajeev Kumar, Kaila Sarath, Deshi Palasi, K Vinesh and K Kamulu.
According to police, the gang procured hashish oil from the Maliguda and Dabuguda areas of Chitrakonda in Odisha’s Malkangiri district and planned to transport it to Palakkad in Kerala. Police said Arun Kumar, a native of Kerala, absconded, and police have intensified efforts to apprehend him.
The District SP congratulated V Madugula SI G Narayana Rao and his five-member team for the operation. Police personnel who demonstrated exceptional performance received certificates of appreciation and special cash rewards.
Additional SP L Mohana Rao, Anakapalli Sub-Division DSP E Sreenivasulu, K Kotapadu CI Krishna, CI Bala Surya Rao and other police personnel were present.
