Ramayana trailer out: Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash promise visual extravaganza
New Delhi: The wait is finally over! The much-awaited trailer of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana has been unveiled, giving glimpse into the ambitious epic starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana.
The trailer was released globally during the auspicious ‘Brahma Muhurat’ at 4:15 am on Thursday (July 30), as announced by the producer Namit Malhotra.

The trailer shows a larger-than-life retelling of the ancient Indian epic, highlighting the journey of Lord Ram, his exile, the abduction of Sita by Ravana, and the battle between good and evil. The film promises breathtaking visuals, massive sets and high-end VFX, giving a cinematic experience to movie buffs.
The four-minute trailer opens with Yash’s Raavan opening the door and declaring, “Tumhara naya raja (Your new king).” The high-octane sequences show Raavan proclaiming Prithvi Lok, Paatal Lok, and Prithvi Lok.
The trailer then shows that whenever there is an imbalance between good and evil, an avatar of Vishnu is born to restore it.
Ranbir Kapoor’s Ram is introduced soon after, with a glimpse of him on horseback and sharing moments with his father, King Dasharath. Sai Pallavi is then introduced as Sita, and the couple’s marriage in Ayodhya.
However, there are no glimpses of Sunny Deol as Hanuman, but you can see others such as Vivek Oberoi, Saurabh Sachdeva, and Rakul Preet Singh, among others.
Ranbir Kapoor steps into the role of Lord Ram. Earlier, he opened up about playing Lord Ram at the San Diego Comic-Con and said, ““I remember when the film was first offered to me, there was so much of fear, so much of doubt. ‘Will I be able to do this, am I capable enough?’ But I think that doubt changed into gratitude very early on. I think it was a blessing, an opportunity of a lifetime, and a moral responsibility. The Ramayana is ingrained in our subconscious.”
“Lord Rama is the conscience keeper of millions of people around the world for generations, for more than 4000 years. He is somebody who embodies the triumph of the human spirit in times of adversities. He stands for courage, compassion, forgiveness, righteousness, and just to have the opportunity to represent that is very daunting,” he added.
Earlier, the trailer of the film, scheduled to release on July 24, but it was postponed after the makers partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment for international distribution of the film.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Mlahotra, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash, Ravi Dubey, Sunny Deol, Anupam Kher, Lara Dutta, Rakul Preet Singh, and Kajal Aggarwal, among others.
The film is scheduled to release in theatres on November 8, 2026, and the second part will be released during Diwali 2027.
