Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 Joins 500 Crore Club

South Indian Superstar ’s most-awaited movie Jailer 2 hit the big screens on 15th October and is still running successfully in the theatres even after crossing one week at the ticket windows. On the first day itself, the movie minted Rs 125 crores and turned into a massive blockbuster. As of now, the movie entered 500 crore club within 7 days and is expected to break more collection records till this weekend.

Going with the latest collection report, this movie is currently running in 10,603 shows and has minted a net of Rs 18.22 Cr Live today.

  • Tamil (Day 7) Rs 12.70 Cr from 5,162 shows,
  • Telugu (Day 7) Rs 3.96 Cr from 1,635 shows
  • Hindi (Day 7) Rs 1.56 Cr from 3,806 shows

With this the India gross collections pile up to Rs 359.95 Cr and total India net to Rs 307.27 Cr. And with the addition of overseas collections, the movie crosses Rs 500 crores officially and turns into one of the biggest hits of Rajinikanth’s career.

Going with the plot, Rajini once again stole the show as ex-jailer Muthuvel Pandian. In the first part, the makers showcased him killing his own son for the betterment of society and now in the second part, he chases down the criminal gang lead by antagonist SJ Suryah. Even the amazing cameos of Hrithik Roshan, Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar in this movie added that extra mileage to the engaging plot.

Well, this movie also has an ensemble cast of Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Mirnaa, Rithvik, Jatin Sarna and Sujith Shankar. Jailer 2 is helmed by Nelson Dilipkumar and is bankrolled under the Sun Pictures banner while Anirudh Ravichander composed the film’s music.
