New Delhi: A 33-year-old woman and her six-year-old son died after falling from the 18th floor of a residential building in Maharashtra’s Pimpri-Chinchwad on Friday evening. Police have recovered a seven-to-eight-page note from the woman’s home which reportedly contains a message asking her husband to remarry after her death.

The woman is identified as Ekta Bangad and lives at Signature Park with her husband, Manoj Bangad, and their son, Madhav. The incident took place at around 6:30 pm. Manoj reportedly works as an engineer at an IT company in Pune.

According to preliminary information, Ekta took her son to the building’s 18th floor before jumping into a duct from the passage. Both were found dead following the incident.

What did note recovered from her home say?

Police recovered a seven-to-eight-page note reportedly written by Ekta before the incident. According to preliminary reports, she asked her husband to remarry and rebuild his life after her death.

The note also reportedly mentioned her concerns about her son’s future and how he would cope with his mother’s absence. She is said to have expressed fears that he would repeatedly ask about her after her death.

The note reportedly also explained why she decided to take her son along with her, including her concern that having a child might make it difficult for her husband to remarry. Police are examining its contents as part of the investigation.

Woman suffering from spinal condition

According to reports, Ekta had been dealing with a spinal condition for several years and had sought treatment at multiple hospitals. However, she had reportedly not received a definitive diagnosis despite consulting different medical facilities.

Her prolonged health problems and the difficulties she faced were also reportedly mentioned in the note.
