‘People will troll, but emotions are my strength’: CJP President Abhijeet Dipke

New Delhi: Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder, Abhijeet Dipke on Tuesday expressed solidarity with his party colleagues, Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka. Both of them are currently in judicial custody. He said that he understood the pain as both of them could not be with their families during the festive season.

Notably both Ranka and Das had been initially sent to judicial custody for 5 days on October 13. This would mean that they would be in custody till October 17. However on Monday, this judicial custody was extended by another 2 days, thus not allowing them to be with their families for Dusshera.

Both the CJP leaders, who are also co-conveners of the CJP, were arrested for allegedly trying to trespass into Jantar Mantar, after the Centre de-notified it as a protest site. They were presented in court, which sent them to judicial custody.

Consider Das and Ranka as family, do not care for trolls: Dipke

Dipke said that while some people might troll him but “he was getting emotional” because he “considers Das and Ranka as his family” and “deeply cares for them.”

Hindustan Times quoted him as saying, “Some people will troll me for getting emotional. But my emotions are my strength. I do it because those two are my family. I care for them. This is the love I have for them.”

Dipke’s remarks came during a live stream on Instagram. He urged people to remember Das and Ranka, who could not be with their families, when they celebrate Dusshera with their families.

He further said that Das and Ranka “were both walking on Gandhi’s path of non-violence”. He added that they would “come out smiling” and then the entire nation would salute them. He also said that “true strength lies in sacrifice.”

He further said that his emotions were a “result of the care and concern” he had for his friends and comrades and “not because of fear.”

Attacking the authorities, he said that “they cannot produce fear and hatred in Das and Ranka.” He added that hate was in fact inside the authorities.”
