Over 2,700 seniors celebrate positive ageing at Tarang Utsav 2026
Bengaluru : More than 2,700 senior citizens from communities across Bengaluru, Chennai, Coimbatore, Kanchipuram and Puducherry participated in Tarang Utsav 2026, an inter-community festival organised by Serene Communities by Columbia Pacific to celebrate active and positive ageing.

Launched on July 9, the second edition of the annual festival featured virtual competitions in music, dance, photography, painting, literary activities, indoor games and sports. The event concluded with a grand finale at Serene Amara in Bengaluru to mark World Senior Citizens’ Day.
Renowned artiste, actor and inventor Prakash Urs, known for his work in Prithvi, attended the finale and felicitated winners along with the leadership team of Serene Communities.
Rajagopal G, Co-Founder, Director and Group CEO, Lifebridge Group, said Tarang Utsav reflected the organisation’s philosophy that senior years can be a period of creativity, discovery and active participation. He said the festival provided seniors an opportunity to showcase their talents while strengthening friendships and community bonds.
Dr Reema Nadig, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer, Lifebridge Group, said participation in creative activities, literary events and sports could support cognitive agility, motor skills and emotional well-being. She described the festival as a platform encouraging seniors to remain engaged, purposeful and connected.

The festival organisers said Tarang Utsav aims to create an environment where senior citizens can pursue their interests, develop new skills and build stronger social connections. The participation of residents across multiple communities highlighted the growing emphasis on active, healthy and socially connected ageing.
Through arts, culture, sports and lifelong learning, the festival sought to promote dignity, companionship and a sense of purpose among seniors while celebrating their talents and enthusiasm.
