‘No protester will be left alone’: CJP after late-night meeting with government
New Delhi: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has claimed that government representatives assured its leaders that after Bihar and Assam, more states would issue notifications protecting protesters from legal action. The announcement followed a late-night meeting in New Delhi, held after the organisation expressed concerns over alleged police action against demonstrators despite earlier assurances.
According to the party, officials shared notifications issued by the Bihar and Assam governments, which provide relief to people who participated in protests over alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG examination.
CJP Chief Spokesperson Saurav Das said the meeting lasted for nearly three hours and focused on ensuring that protesters across the country would not face legal consequences.
He said government representatives shared documents confirming the withdrawal of FIRs, release of detainees and protection from future legal action in Bihar and Assam.

Das further claimed that similar notifications from the Union government and other BJP/NDA-ruled states were expected soon.
“Hours after our press conference, Government representatives met us. The meeting lasted for 2-3 hours. They shared copies of the Bihar and Assam notifications guaranteeing FIR withdrawals, no action in future, and release of all detainees and arrestees.”
He added, “Hopefully, the agreed upon language shall be used. No protester will be left alone. We are all in this together.”
In a video statement after the meeting, Das said CJP leaders had conveyed their concerns that earlier commitments might not be implemented.
“We told them that we were worried the assurances given by the government may not be fulfilled. In response, they brought along the Bihar Home Department’s press release stating that all FIRs against protesters would be withdrawn and that no action would be taken against them in the future.”
He said discussions also covered extending similar protections to protesters in other states.
“We sat together and discussed which other state governments could issue similar notifications so that no harm comes to protesters,” CJP said.
Das further claimed, “The government has guaranteed that notifications addressing our concerns in various states will be issued by tomorrow and that protesters will remain safe. No action will be taken against them in the future.”
He added that the organisation would continue supporting those who took part in the demonstrations.
“We will make sure that not a single protester who participated in demonstrations in their city faces any legal action. We have stood with protesters from day one and will continue to stand with them,” Das said.
Before the late-night meeting, CJP had warned that it could resume protests, alleging that authorities had failed to honour commitments made during earlier negotiations.
CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka claimed that protesters were still facing police action in several states despite assurances.
“We are observing a complete breach of the agreement regarding no police action against the protesters. Hundreds of students have been arrested in Bihar and Bengal, and hundreds are being surveilled or harassed in Delhi and other states. Multiple reports are emerging in Delhi around detention of volunteers supporting protesters with logistics,” he said.
He demanded the immediate withdrawal of all criminal cases against protesters and warned that the movement would return to the streets if the agreement was not implemented.
“We demand that all the FIRs against the protesters be immediately withdrawn, students be released and no future FIRs be filed. Failing which we will be forced to sit on protest again,” the CJP spokesperson had said.
Later, Das also claimed that Rajasthan authorities had assured the party that protesters in the state would not face legal action.
