MLA urges local entry points for Kanjhawala–Mangolpuri Corridor
New Delhi: Delhi’sproposed Kanjhawala–Mangolpuri Elevated Corridor must do more than speed up through traffic—it should also strengthen connectivity for villages and rural communities in Bawana and surrounding areas, according to Cabinet Minister and Bawana MLA Ravinder Indraj Singh.

The demand was raised during a meeting at the Delhi Secretariat on August 24, where concerned MLAs discussed major infrastructure projects proposed by the Public Works Department. The meeting focused on improving road infrastructure and connectivity across Delhi’s outer and rural areas, with elected representatives invited to share constituency-specific suggestions and highlight local requirements.
During the discussion, Ravinder put forward key recommendations on the proposed elevated corridor over the auxiliary drainage channel in the Bawana area and the planned Kanjhawala–Mangolpuri Elevated Corridor.
The Kanjhawala–Mangolpuri project, proposed to stretch approximately 11.70 kilometres, is expected to reduce congestion on major roads in West and North-West Delhi and improve overall transportation. However, Singh stressed that the planning of such a major project must take into account the needs of the large number of villages and the significant rural population within the Bawana Assembly constituency.
