Meta Unveils Muse Charm, a Pocket-Sized AI Companion Launching Soon
Meta’s annual Connect event this year brought a fresh lineup of hardware, but one surprise entry stood out from the usual glasses and headsets – a tiny, always-on gadget called Muse Charm. Alongside announcements like Ray-Ban Meta Audio, third-generation Ray-Ban Meta glasses, and new Meta VR Glasses, this pocket-sized device signals Meta’s push to make its AI assistant, Muse, a constant companion rather than something tucked inside an app.

Zuckerberg’s closing surprise at Connect 2026
Mark Zuckerberg saved Muse Charm for the very end of his keynote, presenting it as a compact, handheld gadget built entirely around real-time voice interaction with Muse. Unlike Meta’s smart glasses, this one doesn’t require you to wear anything on your face – it’s meant for people who’d rather just carry a small device and talk. Zuckerberg described it as the quickest way to reach Muse, and while it’s still being finalized, he confirmed it should hit shelves within the next few weeks.
Visually, the Charm has a small screen displaying an animated avatar that represents Muse. In the company’s own words, Meta says the “Muse Charm is a delightful and fun device built for you to talk and interact with your Muse. It brings the power of Muse with a state-of-the-art real-time voice model into a device that fits in your pocket”. Pricing and full specs haven’t been announced yet, though the device is known to include a front-facing camera, a fingerprint sensor, and a physical action button on its side.
What Muse can actually do
Beyond just conversation, Muse is built to handle real tasks for its users. It runs on something called the Muse Secure VM, letting the assistant send emails, book tickets, and fill out forms on your behalf. Meta has also said Muse holds onto context from earlier conversations, using it to carry out future requests more intelligently. More specifics – including pricing – are expected to roll out later this year.
